Documentary film What you see is what you get

Documentary film What you see is what you get is a heartfelt collage of stories about friendship, understanding, giving and receiving. Children with ASD and their parents, teachers and friends share their experiences, feelings and desires and show to the viewer that each person is a social being that needs to be loved, noticed, smiled at and given a friendly or comforting word.

This documentary is the first one made in Slovenia to cover the topic of autism spectrum disorders. It includes insights by leading experts, such as dr. John Lawson from Oxford Brookes and Cambridge University and dr. Rita Micallef from Malta.

The film was coproduced by Center for autism, Slovenia and Suigeneris institute and was partly cofinanced by European social fund. It was first shown at the 1st Autism Festival, organised by the Slovenian Center for Autism in Ljubljana in September 2009. The film will be shown on the national television in December 2009.
